Step 3: Create a Listing Profile
Listing profiles define how your products appear on eBay – categories, shipping, returns, and templates.
- Go to eBay → Profiles
- Click Add New Profile
- Set a name (e.g., "Standard Listings")
- Configure these essentials:
Category:
- Click Select Category and browse to your eBay category
- Or use Auto-Match if your products have GTINs/UPCs
Listing Type:
- Fixed Price – Most common, set your price and sell immediately
- Auction – For collectibles or price discovery
Shipping:
- Select a shipping service or use eBay's calculated shipping
- Set handling time (1-3 business days is typical)
- Recommended: Use eBay Business Policies for easier management across listings
Returns:
- Enable returns (eBay favors listings with returns accepted)
- Set return window (30 days is standard)
Item Specifics:
- Map required attributes like Brand, Size, Color to your WooCommerce product attributes
- Different categories require different specifics – check the Category tab for requirements
Template:
- Use the default template to start, or create a custom one with Template Editor V2
- Click Save Profile
Step 4: List Your First Product
- Go to eBay → Listings
- Click Prepare from WooCommerce
- Select one or more products
- Choose your listing profile
- Click Prepare Selected Items
Your products now appear in the Listings table with status "Prepared".
- Verify first: Select the listing and click Verify to check for errors before publishing
- Review any errors – click the error badge to see details and suggested fixes
- Once verified successfully, select the listing(s) and click Publish to eBay
That's it! Your product is now live on eBay.
Step 5: Enable Inventory Sync (Critical)
Keep your stock levels synchronized between WooCommerce and eBay to avoid overselling:
- Go to eBay → Settings → Sync
- Enable Sync inventory when WooCommerce stock changes
- Enable Reduce WooCommerce stock when eBay item sells
- Set your preferred sync frequency
Warning: Without inventory sync enabled, selling the same item on both WooCommerce and eBay can result in overselling. Enable this immediately after your first listing.
Now when you sell on eBay, your WooCommerce stock updates automatically, and vice versa.

Common First-Time Issues
"UPC/EAN is missing" error:
eBay requires product identifiers (GTINs) for most categories. Add UPC/EAN/ISBN to your WooCommerce products under Product Data → Inventory. For handmade, custom, or vintage items, select "Does not apply" in the listing profile.
"Item specifics required" error:
eBay categories require certain attributes (Brand, Size, Color, MPN, etc.). Go to your listing profile → Item Specifics tab and map these to your WooCommerce product attributes. The required fields are marked with an asterisk.
Authorization/token errors:
eBay tokens expire periodically and need refreshing. Go to eBay → Settings → Accounts and click "Reauthorize" next to your account. See our Re-Authorization Guide.
Stock not syncing:
Verify sync is enabled in eBay → Settings → Sync. Check that your WooCommerce products have "Manage stock" enabled. If issues persist, see our Inventory Sync Troubleshooting Guide.
Images not uploading:
eBay requires images to be at least 500x500 pixels and publicly accessible. If your images are behind a login or CDN with restrictions, eBay cannot fetch them. Check that your image URLs are accessible in an incognito browser window.
